Update

Congrats to winners!

Congratulations to the winners of the fifth NSL Open Tournament, ClassicOutEZtourney (Doggo, Herakles, Rirey, Hyste, Hypie, Wakelagger and RIDDLE)! Some great games were played during this event, and they can be rewatched on Noky's, DCDarkling's, NSLTV's and UWE's official twitch channel.

Next events

Looking forward, we have a lot of exciting events coming up in the next few months! In two weeks on Saturday, September 21, we will host another Draft Tournament. As with our last draft tournament, players only need to sign up and show up on time, and teams will be made by the administration. Let’s see if there will be another four-way tie again!

  • The Draft Tournament is scheduled to begin at 17 CEST / 11AM EST / 8AM PST, so keep the times in mind!

  • Signups for the next Draft Tournament can be found here. Don't forget to join our discord server.

After this, we plan to host a new type of tournament: an ELO-restricted tournament, tentatively named the NSL Intermediate Tournament. This has been requested by many members, and the goal is to provide an environment for newer players and teams to challenge one another. This event is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, September 28-29. More details will be announced a little later, so please stay tuned for this event!

And for all teams wishing to compete, the next Open Tournament will take place on Saturday and Sunday, October 5-6, so mark the dates!

Grand Open Tournament in December

We are excited to announce that we have received some funding from UWE so that we can finally offer a tournament with an awesome prize pool! On Saturday and Sunday, December 7-8, we will host a Grand Open Tournament with a prize pool of $600 for the first place winner, and t-shirts for the second place runner ups (thanks UWE!). This is the start of many new things to come, so we hope that it can ignite some serious competition between teams. Mark the dates, and get ready for some challenging games! This event will show which team is truly the top dog in 2019!

Increased rates on servers

We recently got information that increasing rates on servers in a 6v6 environment should not impact performance significantly, so we are going to implement this on several servers for testing purposes. These higher rates (tick rate, move rate, send rate and perhaps lower interp) should improve the feel of the game, so we believe this to be a very positive change for the competitive scene. We ask that if you decide to take advantage of these testing environments, that you provide feedback.

Staff changes

Lastly, we regret to inform you that Jackson will be stepping down as the Communications Admin. He will still stream on occasion, but will not participate in the administrative work of the NSL any longer. We would like to take a moment to thank Jackson for all of his work to help revitalize the NS2 competitive scene. On this note, the NSL is in need of more casters and referees! If you are interested in casting tournaments or reffing them, please reach out to any of the NSL admins.
